Multi-disciplinary
Team
Collaboration is the key to innovation and a multidisciplinary team brings together diverse perspective skills and experience to create solutions that no single discipline could achieve alone
Multidisciplinary Team
Tearmann Cottage has a residential staff team who are all registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) and trained specifically in attachment (Just right state, Sensory attachment intervention), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and trauma informed models. The team is supported by experienced social workers, a clinical psychologist and an occupational therapist all of whom play a key role in providing training, clinical supervision and reflective practices.
Tearmann Cottage has access to a nurse who completes regular visits to the home. During these visits health checks shall be completed and children can discuss any concerns they may have around their health.
We avail also of other professionals to support our team and young people through art, music and work with animals.

Our practice is informed with a focus on attachment theory. The core values of Tearmann are
influenced by Dr Dan Hughes’ Model of Attachment, which is used to support children who
have experienced relational trauma. This model uses PACE (playfulness, acceptance,
curiosity, and empathy), a way of thinking, feeling, communicating and behaving that aims to make the child feel physically and relationally safe. It is based on how parents connect with
their very young infants.
